SpoolCalc · version 1.0 · last updated 15 August 2026

SpoolCalc is a fishing reel capacity calculator that runs entirely on your device. This policy describes what version 1.0 of the app actually does.

In short: the app collects nothing. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no tracking. It does not connect to the internet at all, except when the App Store handles a purchase.

No account

There is no sign-in and no account. The app never asks for your email address, phone number, name, or anything else that could identify you.

What is stored, and where

The reels you save, the calculations in your history and your unit preference are stored only in your device's own storage, in a local database belonging to the app. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and the developer has no way to see it.

Deleting the app deletes that data along with it.

No analytics, no tracking, no advertising

SpoolCalc contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no advertising and no third-party frameworks of any kind. Nothing you tap, type or calculate is recorded or measured. No advertising identifier is read, and no profile of you is built. There is nothing to opt out of, because nothing is collected.

Location

The app never requests or uses your location. It has no reason to know where you are fishing.

Purchases

SpoolCalc Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Payment details are processed by Apple and are never visible to the app or to the developer. All the app ever learns is whether the purchase exists on your Apple Account, which it checks with Apple's on-device StoreKit framework. That answer is remembered locally so your purchase keeps working with no signal.

Bug reports and feature requests

If you use Report a Bug or Request a Feature, the app opens a draft message in your own mail app. It pre-fills the message with:

That is a device model, not a device identifier — it cannot be traced back to you or to your particular phone. No saved reels, history or other app data is included.

Nothing is sent automatically. The draft is fully editable: you can change or delete any of it, and it only reaches the developer if you press send. Doing so means your email address is visible in your message, as it would be in any email. Those messages are kept only as long as they are needed to deal with the problem, and are never used for marketing.

Children

SpoolCalc does not collect personal data from anyone, of any age, so it is safe for children to use in that respect.

Your rights

Data-protection rights such as access, correction, erasure and portability apply to personal data held about you. Because the developer holds no such data, there is nothing to request, correct or export. The information stored on your device is already yours and entirely under your control — deleting the app removes it. If you have emailed a bug report and want that message deleted, ask at the address below.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes what it does with data, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
