Terms of Use

SpoolCalc · version 1.0 · last updated 15 August 2026

These terms cover your use of the SpoolCalc iOS app. Installing or using the app means you accept them.

The single most important term: every number SpoolCalc produces is an estimate. Check it against your own spool before you rely on it.

Estimates, not guarantees

SpoolCalc works out how much line will fit on a reel from the relationship capacity ∝ length × diameter². That relationship is a good approximation, but a real spool is not a perfect model. Results vary because of:

Treat every result as a starting point. Leave room below the spool lip, and verify as you wind. The app is a calculation aid and nothing more; it is not tackle advice and does not replace the manufacturer's specification for your reel.

No liability for outcomes

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. The developer is not liable for wasted line, unusable spools, lost fish, missed sessions, spoiled trips or any other loss arising from acting on a result the app produced. You decide what to spool, and you carry that decision.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you bought the app as a consumer, your statutory consumer rights are unaffected by anything here.

Licence

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use SpoolCalc on devices you own or control, under Apple's standard App Store terms. You may not resell it, redistribute it, reverse-engineer it, or extract parts of it for use elsewhere, except where that restriction is void by law.

SpoolCalc Pro

SpoolCalc Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There is nothing to cancel and nothing that renews. It unlocks the backing calculator, unlimited saved reels, calculation history and saved favourite setups, and it stays unlocked.

The purchase is tied to your Apple Account, so it restores free of charge on your other devices using Restore Purchases in Settings. Payment, receipts, refunds and Family Sharing rules are handled entirely by Apple under the terms you accepted with them; refund requests go to Apple, not to the developer. Prices are set per storefront by Apple and shown in the app in your local currency.

The free version is not a trial and does not expire. The line capacity calculator, unit conversion and the explanation of the result remain free.

Availability and changes

Features may be added, changed or removed in future versions. The app has no server, so it will keep working offline as installed even if it is withdrawn from the App Store. If a paid feature is ever removed outright, that will be stated in the release notes.

Your data

SpoolCalc stores your reels, history and preferences only on your device and collects nothing. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Poland, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
